I completed a multi-year archival project for our family, covering 8 family lines. I fell in love with the process and wanted to offer the service to others in an affordable, user-friendly way. I have the equipment and software and thought what a great way to continue to put it to use!
I focus on the region around Sioux Falls, South Dakota, covering about 60 miles or an hour drive. This makes it easier to transport projects and items without shipping them. Just fill out the Contact Me form and we can talk.
Fill out the Contact Me form or send a direct email to niki@aronelarchives.com. We will discuss the types of media and the quantity of your items. We will also talk about the services you're interested in, like photo scanning, organization and restoration, or slides archival and image clean-up, or a quick scan job to create a movie or slideshow. At that point, a quote can be provided. And you can certainly add-on services as the project progresses.
It is nearly impossible to predict the condition of the items and an accurate count, before an in-depth assessment. It is more accurate to let the computer do the count. So in the beginning, we will ballpark a number and provide a quote based on that and the services requested. Most photo managers decline to provide a quote before previewing the collection. As it's been proven time and time again, it can be challenging for customers to know the types of media, the level of degradation that's taken place, the amount of organization required or how long it will take to scan. That's not your job, it's mine!
It depends on the project. You may pay at the end. If it's an ongoing, multi-month experienced, you'd pay by the month. The factors are the size of the order, where you are located, and the timeframe requested.
We would discuss if you have a deadline or if it's more of an open-ended timeline. I would filter your project into the workflow based on that information. I work from home and am able to devote time to your memories throughout the day.
There are so many! You want to archive the boxes and boxes of photos, negatives and documents you inherited from your grandparents. A loved one has passed away and you'd love to share the memories of their life with guests at the memorial service. Your child is about to graduate from high school and a photo book that open house guests could sign would be lovely. You're planning your parents' 25th wedding anniversary and would enjoy playing a movie during the reception. You could gather the images from your mom's childhood and relive them with her, listening to her stories. You've been talking about having a family reunion for years and it's finally going to happen. Collect images from family members near and far to be archived in one collection and shared at the event. Your business is celebrating 50 years of service to the community. Have the photos of the first days and years scanned and restored to be enlarged and proudly displayed.
Absolutely not! That is part of my desire to offer a service that is as convenient as possible. You won't need to organize the slides or orientate the photos vertically or horizontally. You don't even need to dust off the boxes or sort the documents they contain. I'll accept an envelope of pictures of all shapes and sizes, as well as a car load of mementos you cherish. Let me do the work for you!
I don't have the equipment to archive and restore old movies, but I have a couple contacts who do. We can work together on preserving your entire collection for posterity, giving you peace of mind and a renewed love for the memories you'll rediscover.
